Automation Core
An Automation Core is the item you get by finding and activating a Drone Relay. Each Resource Hub needs one Core. The home Teleport Relay serves a different job: it lets you leave a completed region.

Explore for a Drone Relay and activate it. The October 20 Demo recording shows holding E at the relay (6:10), then an Automation Core in the backpack at 9:07. Check your inventory for the Core before starting a Hub. This interaction is from that dated recording, before v0.3.9.
What it is for
Spend one Automation Core per Resource Hub. The September 25 official update introduced this requirement to limit how many Hubs can be built. For the rest of the demonstrated materials and Heat requirement, follow the linked Resource Hub walkthrough; those values belong to the October 20 recording, not a confirmed v0.3.9 recipe.
Check the result
An Automation Core appears in your inventory after activating a Drone Relay. The Hub build requirement then has a Core available; the recorded panel shows 2 owned / 1 required.
